Universal Medicine: Life from a different point of view

In 2007 I began attending Universal Medicine workshops and this brought a new perspective to my life and my work. Previously when i did the decluttering I would get overwhelmed by the way people were living.

I remember visiting a ladies house and to walk through it was like walking on a pathway surrounded with clutter, to get to her kitchen. There were takeaway containers to the ceiling and in her cupboard hundreds of teacups and saucers but when she drank her tea it was out of a broken cup with no handle. Her shower was full of newspapers and rubbish. There were many more experiences like this.

The despair of the people and the way they were living was something I didn't understand. I made the mistake of taking it on and trying to fix them rather than truly supporting. By fixing something on the surface we don't really support people to consider what is going on underneath.

Taking on what was going on for others overwhelmed and exhausted me. In the end I had to completely stop delivering my service because of the impact it was having on me.

On reflection it may have been more subtle but I was also inconsistent with how I was with my own housework. I would either be super organised or very cluttered. I would always have 1 room in the house that was a mess. Cleaning up would make me feel better but I wasn't really considering what was going on for me underneath.

After a time of doing Universal Medicine workshops my approach completely changed -- I realised it had to come from me and how I was living.

I had to honour me, love me and nurture me as a base and now that is part of what i deliver to others. Today I feel a steadiness, not the highs and lows; I have built a foundation and with that foundation I can now deliver that to other people because it's in me.

Universal Medicine is founded by Serge Benhayon who is known in the Northern Rivers and internationally as the 'healers healer'. He works with people in all industries and from all backgrounds to appreciate the healing quality they can bring to their everyday work and life. This has had a huge impact on how I now approach my business and my life generally.

If you are interested in learning more about Universal Medicine's teachings and courses there is more info on their website. To hear from people that have written about Universal Medicine and their own experiences and reflections visit the Truth About Universal Medicine blog - I occasionally contribute to this site and the writing is very inspiring.
